The Scoop

|
We welcomed the newest member of our family last night, Bert the fish, to his new home. A fishbowl in Jane's room. We promised Jane a pet and she requested a purple fish, which we managed to find. Jane suggested we name him Toby, but seeing as there is already a pet named Toby in our family, we settled on Bert. He seems happy in his new home.

The rest of the family is doing well. Clark turned three months old. He is so much fun! He smiles and smiles and smiles, goos and gaaas and wiggles like crazy. He is getting cuter every day. We are still undecided about his hair color however, and waiting to see whether he will be blond or red or something in between.

Jane continues to amuse us. She asks us daily to take her to Disneyland and reminds us of her favorite rides (Dumbo the flying elephant, the carousel, etc.). While there are no imminent plans to go to Disneyland, we are getting excited for our Brown family trip to Maui this fall. (Only two more months).

And last of all, we are celebrating our seventh anniversary on Friday. Can you believe it? Seven years. How did that happen?

Pratt Family Reunion

|
We just returned from the annual Pratt Family Reunion in Birch Bay, Washington. We spent the week swimming in the pool, playing at the beach, and of course, eating. It wouldn't be a Pratt Reunion without lots of good food. We ventured into Canada one day and checked out the beach at Stanley Park in Vancouver. It was really hot but we cooled off in the ocean. We spent one day digging for clams and building sand castles. Who knew clams could get that big?! And they are really disgusting. But it was fun watching Uncle Marvin dig them out of the sand. Jane was so proud of herself for helping the big kids build a sandcastle. We went to the local water slide park one day and got a little sunburned. Jane had a lot of fun going on the little kid slides and eating an ice cream cone. Our last night we spent at Hovander Homestead Park eating grandpa's famous salmon and anticipating our annual treasure hunt. After discovering a pirate flag hanging from the tower, we found a clue which led everyone on a hunt to find the hidden pirate map. After following the map through the park, our niece Rylee spotted the hidden treasure chest (with a little help) and soon all the kids had raided it clean. The group photo turned out great. What a good looking family. (Everyone was there except for Cameron and Chelsea and two cousins serving missions.)

Happy Birthday, Jane!

|
We celebrated Jane's seconnd birthday today with family and friends. Jane got a tricycle, and we are looking forward to teaching her how to ride it. The weather was great and we had a lot of fun being at the park. The bubble machine was a big hit, too.

Jane had a wonderful birthday!

Welcome Home, Clark

|
We've finally made it back home from the hospital with Clark. Even though the hospital stay was only about 24 hours, it always seems like much longer - I guess there really is no place like home.

Unlike his sister, Clark has the wonderful quality of being a great sleeper. It only took him a couple of nights to get in a rythm, and he has been sleeping solid ever since.

Jane has also proven to be a great big sister. She never passes an opportunity to gush over her brother and has been very good natured about all the attention he is getting.

Colleen and I figure our only big task now is how to handle two at the same time. I'm sure we'll make up something.
